Privacy Policy
xMyIP provides free network diagnostics. This notice explains what information is handled when you use the site.
Who operates this site?
The site is operated by Andras Szabolcs Dumbrevan. To ask a question or exercise a privacy right, visit Contact or email andrasdumbrevan@gmail.com.
IP addresses and diagnostic inputs
When you visit, the web server receives your public-facing IP address and standard request metadata so it can deliver the page. The homepage may check commonly used TCP ports and perform an IP information lookup. If you enter a public IP or domain, xMyIP sends that target to its diagnostic backend and may query external DNS and IP geolocation services, including ip-api.com. A public-IP lookup may therefore disclose the queried IP to the geolocation provider.
Diagnostic results can include approximate location, ISP, hostname, TCP reachability, DNS and mail records, TLS certificate data and HTTP security headers. IP-based location is approximate. Results are not a security certificate.
Optional browser privacy test
The browser/WebRTC test runs only when you choose to start it. It uses a public STUN server operated by Google (stun.l.google.com) to gather connection candidates and sends the collected candidates and browser properties to the xMyIP diagnostic backend for a report. These candidates can include local or public addresses. Avoid running this test if you do not want to expose those details to the test services.
Our statistics
Our first-party site analytics stores aggregated daily counts of page loads, test types, successes, failures, report downloads and coarse country totals where available. It does not intentionally store raw visitor IP addresses, submitted lookup targets, full browser fingerprints or persistent analytics identifiers in its daily statistics. Counts are not reliable unique-visitor measurements.
Server logs and short-lived reports
Our hosting software may retain technical access and error logs, which can contain IP addresses, request paths, dates, user agents and diagnostic URL parameters. Advanced report downloads are held in a short-lived PHP server-side session, typically up to 15 minutes, and use an essential session cookie while active. We use server and security logs for operation, troubleshooting and abuse prevention. Logs and hosting retention settings should be reviewed separately from the anonymous statistics.
Advertising and third parties
We have submitted xMyIP for Google AdSense review. Google's advertising script may be present for site verification and consent messaging even before advertisements begin appearing. If and when ads are enabled, Google and advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies and collect identifiers, IP addresses and interactions to select, limit and measure ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use information from prior visits to this and other sites to display ads. Where legally required, choices are requested through the consent management message. You can manage personalization at Google My Ad Center and learn more about how Google uses partner-site information.
Purposes, retention and choices
We process technical requests to provide the requested diagnostics, keep the service secure and prevent abuse; we use aggregate counts to understand usage. Advertising, where activated, is subject to applicable consent and other legal requirements. The aggregate statistics are configured for approximately 90 days of on-server retention. Other retention periods depend on server and third-party configurations and should be confirmed by the operator before public approval. You may contact us to request access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights, and may complain to your applicable data protection authority.
